What Sugar Does To Your Body
You eat sugar (cereal, bagels, breakfast bars, coffee, smoothies, yogurt, granola, oatmeal, whole grains, sandwiches, pasta, certain fruits and dried fruit… just to name a few)
The pancreas secretes insulin (glucose transport hormone) in response to the amount of sugar consumed causing an insulin spike and the liver turns the sugar into fat.
As the liver releases sugar into the bloodstream, blood pressure rises and blood glucose levels increase causing a blood sugar spike.
Similar to heroine, dopamine levels in the brain surge.
High insulin levels cause blood sugar levels to plummet, your body gets tired and thinks it needs more sugar to offset the imbalance sending you a signal that you are hungry.
