5 Tips to Cut Out Sugar
Here’s the deal, no one quits sugar cold turkey. It is a daily challenge and some days are better than other days. I recently went through some personal trials and I broke too. I had a piece of chocolate and it was delicious. But, I had to get back to my center and realize the harm I was doing to my health. It doesn’t mean that I don’t miss sugar. I do! In the meantime, I have 5 tips to help you cut out sugar or get back on track with cutting out sugar.
1. Start with half. If you drink Coke or Pepsi daily, start cutting back by only drinking half your normal portions. This will help you get the hang of eliminating sugar but slowly.
2. Dessert should have rules. The first bite of any dessert is the best. So, remember – just because you can doesn’t mean you should eat the entire thing. Start with only having dessert once a week for a month and half of your normal portion. And yes, if your normal portion is a tub of Ben and Jerry’s then start with half the tub. Slowly cutting back is the key!
3. Clean out your cabinets and your fridge. You don’t want to become bored, stressed, or too busy to cook that you reach for an unhealthy, sugary and processed snack. If it is out of sight it will likely be out of mind!
Until next time,
