Tired? Anxious? Mood Swings? Headaches? Does this sound like you? If so, chances are you are addicted to sugar. And you can be addicted to sugar just like people are addictive to drugs, alcohol, or even cigarettes.

Sugar is a legal drug that can harm to your body. Just like someone on cocaine appears to be hyped up, people who are withdrawing from sugar (in need of a fix) will present like an addict with an anxiety riddled mood, headaches, exhaustion… the list goes on and on.

Your hormones are impacted, like any addiction, by sugar. Blood sugar symptoms means there is an insulin problem. And since hormones send signals to the brain that act as messengers, when your addicted to sugar, you have to have more of it or your hormones become misaligned and you start to feel achy and can have terrible mood swings.

Quitting sugar doesn’t mean your hormones always bounce back, either. If your addiction is strong enough- you may have to seek medical help to really realign your hormones and address any underlining medical issues that have arrived as a result of years of sugar dependency.
