Love Isn't About Chocolate
You don’t have to give anyone chocolate to show them that you love them. In fact, there are many other healthy ways to show someone that you love them – especially tomorrow , Valentine’s Day!
There is nothing wrong with going out for a healthy dinner. Drop the chocolate and opt for a romantic Vegan dinner. Food & Wine magazine has a great list of the country’s best Vegan restaurants, which you can find here: http://www.foodandwine.com/slideshows/best-vegan-and-vegetarian-restaurants
Why am I so against chocolate? Sugar and fat content vs. what it does to your body! As an example, chocolate contains Phenylethylamine (PEA), which is a chemical mirror to the feeling that love causes. The problem with any chemical replacement is that your body then stops producing that chemical naturally (since this saves the body trouble), the person has to keep getting more fixes (as for any drug addict). And chocolate also has a very high oxalate content, which can cause kidney stones. The list of negatives surrounding eating chocolate goes on and on.
Additionally, there is a morally dark side to chocolate, which is why I am sharing this video with you; https://youtu.be/7Vfbv6hNeng
You don’t have to show someone that you love or care for them with a gift of chocolate tomorrow. Instead, opt to make them a health y meal (there are plenty of free recipes on my blog) and there are plenty of restaurants across the country happy to entertain your business.
Until next time,
Roseann
