Are You Eating Your Pie?
When I started the “Eat Your Oils” campaign, the last thing my clients expected was for me to tell them to eat pie. But yes, eating pie is a way to improve your health and help relieve IBS symptoms as long as you are eating the right type of pie.
IBS affects between 25 and 45 million people in the United States (10 to 15% of the population). Lime is very beneficial for those impacted by IBS. You see, lime helps to provide relief from diarrhea and it also helps to remove accumulated mucus from the intestine. Additionally, a teaspoon of lime juice or oil can help to regulate bowel movements.
So, where is the pie Roseann? And how does it help? Pure lime essential oil is like squeezing the root of the lime. I have an amazing Lime Pie recipe that promotes bowel health and satisfies a sweet tooth craving. Make sure you use 100% pure and editable essential oils with this recipe.
IBS Friendly Lime Pie
Crust:
1 1/4 cups sugar-free graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup (4Tbsp) vegan butter, melted
Filling:
1 cup raw cashews, soaked for 4-6 hours (or overnight), then drained
3/4 cup light or full fat coconut milk, well shaken
1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
3-4 large limes
1 tablespoon PURE lime oil
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F and line a standard muffin tin with 12 paper liners.
Add graham crackers to a food processor and process until you achieve a fine meal. Then add melted butter and pulse to combine.
Distribute evenly among muffin tins and press down with a glass or spoon to flatten. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and set aside to cool.
Add all filling ingredients to a blender and blend on high (or liquify) until creamy and smooth.
Pour filling into muffin tins and tap on counter to release air bubbles. Top with a bit more lime zest and loosely cover.
Freeze for 4 hours or until firm. Remove from the freezer for 10 minutes to thaw before serving. Will keep covered in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.
