Sugar-Free Popsicles

Well, you will LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these sugar-free Popsicles and they will love your body right back! The base of each recipe calls for banana. Now, if you’re thinking, “Roseann, what about the sugar in bananas? I thought it was bad for you,”. Don’t worry sweetie… keep reading.

Bananas are a good source of potassium, fiber, vitamin C and vitamin B-6. As they ripen, the starch they contain turns into natural sugar. Greener bananas contain less natural sugar than overripe bananas. These Popsicles have the right amount of natural banana sugar and are combined with ingredients which are low-glycemic index foods, which means that these Posicles, banana base and all, are and unlikely to cause large increases in your blood sugar levels.

Plus, bananas offer amazing benefits for your gut. Since they are a rich source of fructooligosaccharides, a prebiotic that feeds friendly bacteria in the digestive system, eating bananas can actually help your gut to fend off overgrowth of pathogenic organisms like yeast.
